Kathmandu, May 20, Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Shmulik Arie Bass has said Israel is ready to share its experience and strengthen cooperation with Nepal as the country focuses on economic growth, employment generation, digital development, agricultural reform, and youth empowerment.

Speaking at a reception organized to mark the 78th Independence Day of Israel at Kathmandu Marriott Hotel in Kathmandu on Wednesday evening, Ambassador Bass said Israel was interested in expanding cooperation with Nepal in the fields of innovation, technology, agriculture, and development.

He said Nepal and Israel, despite differences in geography and size, are connected by shared values of resilience, education, and progress. According to him, Israel’s experience in agriculture, water management, entrepreneurship, and technology could contribute to Nepal’s priorities of economic growth, job creation, and digital transformation.

Ambassador Bass also stressed the need to expand collaboration in innovation, education, and employment opportunities for Nepali youth. Referring to Israel’s achievements in digital navigation, cybersecurity, water management, and modern agriculture, he described the country as a successful example of innovation-driven development.

During the program, the ambassador highlighted the role of MASHAV, Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, in providing training and capacity-building opportunities to Nepali professionals. He also noted that the “Learn and Earn” program and employment opportunities in Israel have helped Nepali youths gain skills, work experience, and financial support for their families.

Recalling the vision of Nepal’s democratic leader B.P. Koirala, Ambassador Bass said development should focus not only on infrastructure and economic indicators but also on human dignity, opportunity, and empowerment.

The event was attended by diplomats, government officials, development partners, media representatives, and distinguished guests from Nepal and Israel.
